Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Construction Assistant is an entry level position responsible for the overall condition of the assigned community or home site along with providing support to the Project Manager as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor lots to ensure proper signage is always in place including the posting of permits and MSDS requirements
  • Provide safe access to homes by installing temporary boardwalks, stairways, handrails, etc.
  • Maintain sites and home cleanliness which may include debris removal, vacuuming, sweeping, etc.
  • Transport materials between jobsites, purchase items from store, and return materials for credit following each phase of construction
  • Assist with material ordering and supporting trade contractors as needed

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Construction experience preferred but not required
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to pass driving record check to drive company vehicle

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Able to work independently and follow the Laborer Checklist
  • Able to follow directions and prioritize tasks

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at various home sites exposed to all outdoor weather conditions. The employee must be able to walk around the jobsite and navigate various terrain and work areas under construction. Must have the physical ability to climb stairs and ladders and regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Employee will be required to always wear protective safety equipment while walking the jobsite.
