Ginosko Construction is a Michigan-based general contractor for multi-family residential developments in the affordable housing industry. We specialize in all aspects of affordable housing construction, from ground-up to preservation.
Ginosko Construction is a sister company to Ginosko Development Company, a multi-state affordable housing development company with over 20 years of experience in affordable housing development dedicated to "building a brighter future today" for the residents of our communities. Ginosko and our principals or affiliates are the developers and owners of over 4,000 units of multifamily housing, most of which are affordable or mixed income. Our portfolio is location throughout Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and growing.
Position Summary:
The Construction Estimator plays a critical role in the success of our projects by providing accurate and detailed cost estimates using their extensive knowledge and application of RS Means data and construction best practices. The Construction Estimator works closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to understand project scope, develop competitive bids, and ensure project profitability. The Construction Estimator's responsibilities include analyzing plans, engineering drawings, bill of materials (BOM's) and other project documentation to estimate project construction costs. The Construction Estimator will price all the materials that are specified within the engineering drawings to arrive at the material costs of the project; and using input from stakeholders will formulate those numbers to include overhead that will be allocated to produce the final project cost.
Education/Certification/Licensing/Experience Requirements:
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in mathematics, architecture, construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum 5 years of construction estimating experience; multi-family construction experience preferred.
  3. Certificates & Licenses: Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Certificate of personal auto liability insurance.
  4. Other Requirements: Extensive experience with RS Means data and cost estimating software. Strong stakeholder service skills. Exceptional dedication to dependability and punctuality. Strong work ethic. Additional requirements include:
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and labor costs.
  • Knowledge of multi-family home construction processes, building codes, and quality control standards.
  • Prior experience with Procore and RS Means required; experience with SmartSheet or similar project management tool preferred. Proficient with MS Office suite.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong math skills including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and navigate specifications and plans.
