Construction Technician

Job Summary

MTech Construction is looking for multiple Construction Technicians to join our growing utility construction team. This position is responsible for operating small and large equipment in both rural and urban areas along with basic labor duties. The ideal candidate will be an individual with experience and knowledge of the telecommunications construction industry necessary to install underground utilities in the most effective and safe manner.

Essential Functions (including but not limited to)

  • Place direct buried cable by operating plowing, digging, and trenching equipment
  • Daily maintenance on equipment and tools
  • Perform routine labor such as potholing, maintenance of right-aways, landscaping, setting pedestals
  • May assist installers and locators as needed
  • Administrative tasks such as reporting time and materials for completed work, balancing inventory, and recording footages
  • Take on-call as deemed necessary by the company

Qualifications and Skills

  • Valid drivers license, CDL preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment and tools
  • General industry knowledge and ability to interpret various prints
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
