ROLE SUMMARY: As a Quantitative Research Analyst at BJU Press, the ideal candidate will play a supporting role on the Research & Analysis team by creating surveys to research and analyze what BJU Press customers want and expect from our products and services. Principal research will be on BJU Press textbooks and video courses but will also include other BJU Press products or services as well as internally-focused studies.

About the Team: The Research & Analysis team seeks to support the mission of BJU Press by being a voice of internal and external markets. Using best practices in our field, Research & Analysis seeks to support the mission of BJU Press by providing reliable, actionable, and easy-to-use insights that enable BJU Press departments to create transformational products and services for Christian educators. We support and encourage each other to work and live in light of eternity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design or develop research surveys using Qualtrics, a web-based research platform
  • Analyze raw data to interpret the extent and import of the findings
  • Analyze numeric survey responses
  • Analyze customer comments and reviews
  • Locate applicable secondary data
  • Prepare findings reports, including actionable recommendations for product revisions
  • Present or assist in presenting findings reports
  • Recommend courses of action for the production and marketing of materials based on insights from research
  • Recommend courses of action for qualitative research studies used to help inform quantitative research
  • Stay abreast of latest issues/trends in market research
  • Be knowledgeable of competitors in the marketplace
  • Represent the Research & Analysis department in team research meetings

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES NEEDED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
  • Ability to work well with teams
  • Ability to balance multiple projects
  • Good organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Writing and editing skills
  • Adept at learning new software
  • Design ability and/or experience with templates, particularly using Microsoft Word to create research reports

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree OR 2+ YOE OR equivalent demonstrated aptitude
  • Research experience preferred, although additional training will be given
  • Data analysis training and experience preferred
  • Experience presenting to groups; speech training preferred
  • Knowledge of educational terms and demographics preferred
  • Teaching experience helpful/preferred
  • Experience with BJU Press materials preferred
  • Knowledge of the publishing/printing process a plus
