We are looking for a talented Electrical Designer II to join our dedicated team at our office located in Albany, New York.

In this role, you will work with a team of Designers, Architects, and Engineers to develop design concepts, which are incorporated into a final product to the client's specifications. You will primarily works on technical aspects of a project.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assists Project Lead with design development and documentation.
  • Uses computer-aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents.
  • Reviews drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company design and production standards.
  • Sets up views/sheets within Revit or AutoCAD for use on a project, utilizing established naming conventions and drawing lists prepared by the Project Lead.
  • Works with equipment suppliers/vendors to obtain the necessary information needed for design completion.
  • Interacts with clients on a limited basis to secure scope and design intent.
  • Researches equipment selections from catalogs under the direction of the Project Designer/Engineer.
  • Performs basic engineering/design calculations, such as motor feeder sizing, conversion from HP and kW to amps and kVA, branch circuit and panel loads, and voltage drop.
  • Ensures acceptable levels of quality and checks for coordination of work to assure documents reflect design intent and necessary coordination.
  • Coordinates design work with related engineering disciplines.
  • Attends job and construction meetings and participates in the coordination of the work.
  • Research non-routine code issues and obtain interpretations from code officials.
  • Performs special projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • 2-4 years of previous design experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Technical or Associate Degree in design from an accredited technical institution or college.
  • Experience in the use of engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD/Revit/Navisworks).
  • Proven time management skills to juggle more than one project at a time.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge of Electrical system design and applicable codes.
