Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced GI Lab RN for a 9-week day shift assignment requiring a CA RN license and 3+ years of GI/Endoscopy experience.

Details
  • , Gment, offering inpatient, outpatient endoscopy, and pre/post-procedure care
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (7:00 AM " 3:30 PM)
  • Performs conscious sedation administration and monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and airway management
  • Utilizes specialized GI equipment including balloon dilators, bronchoscopy carts, ERBE electrosurgical units, forceps, polyp snares, and lithotripters
  • Supports procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD, bronchoscopy, EBUS, EUS, ERCP, esophageal variceal banding, and sclerotherapy
  • Administers medications including opioid analgesics, Propofol, Versed, and reversal agents
  • Performs pre-procedure tasks including 12-lead EKG/ECG and IV starts
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities
Requirements
  • Active CA RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; CGRN preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of GI/Endoscopy RN experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Skills in conscious sedation administration/monitoring and specimen handling/labeling required
  • Scrub and circulate skills for GI procedures required
  • 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required, may include Charge RNs/Leads
Additional Information
  • Provide direct patient care in the GI Lab, including pre-procedure prep, sedation monitoring, and post-procedure recovery
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rate; local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period
  • Travel experience not required, provided candidate has 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Floating between sister facilities within the health system may be required
