The Storage Server I/O (SSIO) group at Amphenol specializes in developing high-performance interconnect solutions for storage and server applications. Our product portfolio includes advanced connectors and sockets that support cutting-edge industry standards such as High Speed Card Edge Connector PCIe Gen6/7, Mini Cool Edge 112G/224G, DDR5/LPCAMM Memory Connector, U.2/SAS Drive Connectors. These solutions are engineered to meet the rigorous demands of next-generation data centers, enterprise servers, and high-speed computing environments.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of technical projects involving electrical connectors and cable systems, from concept through evaluation.
  • Collaborate with key Server/Storage ODMs to develop high-speed cable and interconnect solutions.
  • Apply deep understanding of server architecture, PCI-SIG, Open Compute Project (OCP), JEDEC, SFF standards, and signal integrity principles.
  • Drive innovation by defining and selecting new design concepts for connectors and cable systems, including prototype development and component fabrication.
  • Work cross-functionally with global teams to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements, cost targets, and program timelines.
  • Provide cost analysis and estimates for product concepts to support Product Management and Manufacturing decisions.
  • Support Sales and Marketing teams with technical training, presentations, and customer engagements.
  • Oversee product testing and qualification to ensure compliance with specifications and performance standards.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking to optimize product performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Manage the lifecycle of components and assemblies, ensuring engineering integrity and continuous improvement.
  • Provide manufacturing support for cost reduction, quality improvement, and customer issue resolution.
  • Stay current with technological advancements in the connector and interconnect industry.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in product development and design.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Electrical/Electronic Engineering also considered).
  • Proven experience in designing card edge, memory connectors and cable assemblies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
