Job description

Overview
DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Configuration Manager to support our U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Integrated Booking System (IBS) program. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive Configuration Management (CM) support, ensuring that CM processes are effectively maintained and aligned with Government standards and program requirements.The Configuration Manager will oversee the control and maintenance of all IBS baselines and configuration items, including source code, documentation, and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software. This role serves as a key liaison between Government and contractor teams, ensuring compliance with configuration management standards and supporting enterprise-level change control processes.The ideal candidate brings strong experience in configuration management practices, version control, and change management within a complex, mission-driven IT environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and update the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) to align with Government processes and program requirements
  • Manage and maintain all configuration items, including source code, documentation, COTS software, and executables
  • Ensure accurate version control, baseline management, and change tracking across the IBS program
  • Deliver source code and artifacts to the Government repository at each release cycle
  • Maintain all source code within approved repository tools (e.g., GitLab) in cloud-based environments
  • Support and participate in Change Control Board (CCB) activities, providing status updates and facilitating change approvals
  • Serve as a liaison between Government and contractor teams to coordinate configuration management activities
  • Ensure development teams adhere to CM processes, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Implement and manage CM processes, including configuration status accounting, change control, baseline versioning, and CM audits
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure integrity, traceability, and accuracy of configuration items and baselines
  • Collaborate with development and program teams to improve CM processes, tools, and procedures
  • Maintain records of all configuration changes and ensure proper documentation is captured and up to date
  • Support communication and reporting of CM activities to stakeholders and leadership
Qualifications
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE preferred)
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in Configuration Management or related roles
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management processes, including version control, change control, and configuration audits
  • Experience managing configuration items in a complex IT or enterprise environment
  • Hands-on experience with GitLab or similar source code repository tools
  • Proven ability to document, track, and coordinate system configuration changes
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with CM standards
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface between technical teams and Government stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting USTRANSCOM or DoD transportation/logistics systems
  • Familiarity with enterprise CM tools (e.g., Serena Business Manager or similar)
  • Experience supporting Agile or DevSecOps environments
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management processes
  • Experience supporting cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud)
