Configuration Management Analyst

Program Summary

Job Summary

A Configuration Management Specialist opportunity for the Search, Track Acquire, Radiate, Eliminate (STARE) Project Office. The job entails data management, configuration identification and control, standards and procedures development, release management, configuration status accounting, configuration auditing, and CM training/advocacy. This individual will be responsible for documenting and controlling changes, implementing version control systems, and managing the configuration management database (CMDB). This individual will also manage the Configuration Review Boards for STARE, collaborating with Engineers and Equipment Developers.

This individual will also support the execution of CM activities to include Management and Planning, Configuration Identification, Configuration Control, Configuration Verification and Auditing, and Configuration Status Accounting for product development. The Configuration Manager will support the development and implementation of organization-level CM and DM policy, plans, and

processes.

This individual will support program success through ensuring program documentation accuracy. Qualities sought in a candidate include attention to detail and strong organizational, analytical, communication, problem-solving skills, and team building skills.

Roles and Responsibilities

Maintain and manage source code repositories, establish and maintain configuration baselines, and track changes through different builds and releases.

Other roles and responsibilities include:

  • Change Control: Manage and approve changes to system configurations, ensuring that modifications are documented and authorized
  • Configuration Management Database (CMDB): Maintain accurate and up-to-date information regarding configurations and their relationships within the CMDB
  • Build and Release Management: Oversee the building, packaging, and release of products, ensuring that they are consistent with established baselines and meet requirements
  • Documentation and Reporting: Generate and maintain comprehensive documentation, including configuration status accounting, and generate reports on configuration status and change requests
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to configuration management processes, including automation and tools
  • Collaboration: Work with other members of the development team, including developers, testers, and product managers, to ensure that all aspects of configuration management are addressed. Will establish and work with teams of individuals

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have an active SECRET clearance
  • A Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or Engineering is required.
  • Over 15 years of US War Department program related experience required. A minimum of 10 years' Configuration Management experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Windchill and EDIS desired
  • Experience with Contracts and Acquisition Management, Program and Budget analysis, Technical Editing and Writing, as well as all areas of Configuration and Data Management. Data Rights and Intellectual Property expertise are also desired.
