Summary of Position: 

The Configuration Technician I is responsible for the quality delivery of a multitude of technology-related services. The Configuration Technician I will have an understanding and interest in general computer hardware and software as well as mobile device technology. This position requires initiative and drive to get the job done right and ability to learn from their fellow employees as well as a wish to grow their career and expertise in the technology field are also strongly desired.

  • Configuration and deployment of PC's and mobile devices 
  • Use and navigation of Windows OS and MS Office 
  • Navigation of folder and file structure 
  • Renaming of system(s) 
  • Use and navigation of Windows Mobile OS, Apple iOS, and Android OS Administration of Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions 
  • Use of endpoint management solutions 
  • Basic hardware knowledge and troubleshooting a plus 
  • IT Terminology 
  • Accurately record and track work as it is being done up to and including: 
    • Item being asset tagged  
    • Scanning items into electronic media 
    • Marking items as complete 
    • Keeping completed items separate from those being worked on

Work Environment

This position is based in a professional office setting and regularly utilizes workplace technology, including computers, smartphones, multifunction printers, cloud-based filing systems, and collaboration tools.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this position frequently communicates with other co-workers/clients who have inquiries about the various projects and other needs.  Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.  The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.  The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.  Constantly operate a computer and office machinery such as a calculator, keyboard, copy machine, and printer.  Frequently moves boxes with equipment weighing up to 30lbs across the building and/or to other offsite buildings for various project needs.

  • Lift up to 30lbs. on a regular, continuous basis

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma Degree  
  • 2 Years of Experience 

Qualifications: 

  • An AA degree in an IT related field strongly preferred 
  • An A+ Certification is desired but not required 
  • Technical Skills Working knowledge of Windows OS 
  • Working knowledge of mobile devices 
  • High proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel required 
  • Working knowledge of Apple OSX preferred 
  • Some CMD line experience preferred Written and Verbal Skills 
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, in English, verbally and electronically (written email) 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Attention to Detail
