Job description

Amentum is seeking a skilled professional to serve as a Configuration Manager to support the Conventional Test Facilities (CTF) program. This role is a key position in the U.S. Navy's launch test facilities Research and Development (R&D) program. This R&D program is a top priority for our nation and supports both U.S. Navy Submarine and Surface Ship weapons system capability testing.
This specific role is critical to ensuring successful day-to-day operations onboard the CTF Program. This role will also provide key support functions to the R&D program as a whole.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary Configuration Manager for the CTF Program.
  • Establish policies/procedures for all technical/engineering documents on the CTF program.
  • Establish procedures for documentation workflows across the entire program.
  • Oversee the documentation library and documentation routing process for the program.
  • Manage the electronic documentation library to ensure appropriate version control.
  • Conduct final Quality Control (QC) checks of documentation prior to routing.
  • Perform Adobe redacting (as necessary) of information that should be removed from documentation.
  • Serve as the primary owner of test series documentation to include technical drawings, technical manuals, technical reports, and other required documents.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for questions related to the documentation process or status.
  • Manage the program SharePoint to ensure effectiveness of the program.
  • Work with the team scheduler to ensure technical documentation needs are built into the schedule.
  • Participate in/lead program-wide briefs regarding configuration management status.
  • Perform other related duties in support of the team.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.
  • Eight to twelve years of experience in configuration management, documentation management, scheduling, or analytical/organizational management.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Adobe, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook).
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated administrative experience supporting senior leaders, internal teams, and customers.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously while maintaining strong alignment with leadership intent.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the broader organizational context.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as a technical documentation manager for weapons or aerospace programs.
  • Current DoD Secret (or Higher) security clearance.

Security & Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. (Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance)

Work Environment
This position is a remote position. Less than <10% travel is expected with this position. On the occasions travel would be required, it is typically planned well in advance.
Compensation Details:
$90K-$120K
