Firehawk Aerospace is a leading propulsion-focused aerospace and defense company located in Addison, TX. Our innovative approach empowers us to design and manufacture cutting-edge solid and hybrid rocket motors and engines. We aim to push the boundaries of propulsion technology to serve both commercial and defense sectors.

This position will be full-time located at our Addison, TX facilities with occasional travel potentially required (approximately 10%).

Firehawk Aerospace is seeking an experienced Configuration Manager to lead configuration management processes and serve as the primary data manager for our aerospace operations. The position will report directly to the design engineering manager and will support all areas of the organization through comprehensive data management, change control oversight, and regulatory compliance in our highly regulated aerospace environment. The ideal candidate should be an effective communicator who works well in cross-functional teams and possesses extensive experience with PTC Windchill and aerospace configuration management practices. They should demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to create robust data management architectures that ensure audit-ready technical documentation and seamless compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage configuration management processes while serving as the primary data manager for the organization.
  • Provide administrative support for recurring needs, including user management, access control, feature refinement, and system fault monitoring.
  • Manage and maintain subscriptions to industry standards to ensure compliance and alignment with best practices.
  • Schedule and facilitate change control boards to evaluate and approve engineering changes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Utilize administrative tools to align internal and external requirements, standards, and processes in a highly regulated aerospace environment.
  • Gather user feedback and suggestions to create targeted, intuitive solutions for diverse endusers and applications.
  • Design and refine life cycle management templates, workflows, and data management architectures to ensure the automated generation and indexing of a comprehensive, โ€œauditreadyโ€ technical archive.
  • Review, approve, and communicate configuration information to customer configuration management organizations and internal departments in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Participate in engineering change boards, design reviews, and organizational initiatives, acting as both system administrator and senior advisor on configuration management practices.
  • Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a configuration and data management role utilizing PTC Windchill.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a technical field (engineering or IT preferred) or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace configuration management principles and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote).
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to excel in a fastpaced R&D environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Active or previous security clearance.
  • Experience developing custom Windchill user interfaces using JSP and Java.
  • Familiarity with change notification processes for defense customers.
  • Knowledge of scripting and automated process development.
  • Experience managing multiple Windchill configuration variants of a common design baseline.
  • Management of engineering changes to operational (fielded) weapons systems with varying effectivities.
  • Understanding of Export Control regulations.
  • Experience in a startup environment.
  • Proficient in WTPart/CAD integration and product structures.
  • Familiarity with Windchill APIs.
  • Experience with both aerospace hardware and software development campaigns.
  • Background in both development and production environments.
  • Experience with technical data packages for DoD acquisitions.
  • Familiarity with MILHDBK61 or similar configuration management methodologies for defense hardware.
  • Experience leveraging ModelBased Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices and digital engineering tools to implement SAE EIA6491 compliant process controls.
  • Competence in navigating and querying defense technical data repositories such as MEDALS, JEDMICS, DLAASSIST, or similar legacy systems.
  • ITAR Requirements:

    To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
