VNE, LLC is looking for a TS Cleared Configuration Management Specialist III
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree.

Experience:
  • Ten (10) years of professional experience with configuration management issues associated with maintaining and controlling hardware inventory, documentation, product releases, and software configuration management.
  • Five (5) years of configuration management experience supporting DCGS-N, ISR/IO, or C4ISR systems. Experience may be achieved simultaneously with the ten years of professional experience require
  • Experience working with Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and supporting procedures for the release and configuration control of products throughout the system life cycle.
  • Experience providing change management and product configuration management guidance.
  • Experience with hardware and software configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, baselines, and configuration audits.
  • Proficiency with Git and DevOps tools used for automation, reporting, and configuration management, such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar tools.
  • Experience working with configuration management repositories, databases, or automated CM tools.
  • TS level Clearance required. Must be clearable to the SCI level

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience directly supporting the U.S. Navy Distributed Common Ground System-Navy (DCGS-N).
  • Experience supporting U.S. Navy programs and Navy C4ISR systems.
  • Experience with DCGS-N software, hardware, system, or operational configuration baselines.
  • Experience with CMPRO or similar configuration management systems.
  • Experience managing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), configuration baselines, and configuration-controlled technical documentation for DCGS-N or comparable Navy systems.
  • Experience supporting DCGS-N LCCBs, CCBs, or similar formal change-control processes.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Test & Evaluation (T&E), cybersecurity, software development, and system engineering processes supporting DCGS-N.
  • Experience working in a DoD acquisition, engineering, or lifecycle-support environment.
  • Experience supporting DCGS-N system upgrades, software releases, fielding, sustainment, or operational configuration management.

Tools:

Job Description:
The DCGS-N Configuration Management Specialist III supports configuration management activities for the U.S. Navy Distributed Common Ground System-Navy (DCGS-N), including ISR/IO and C4ISR systems, throughout the product life cycle. This position is responsible for maintaining and controlling hardware and software configurations, technical documentation, product releases, configuration baselines, and associated inventory.
Responsibilities
  • Manage hardware and software configuration management activities for DCGS-N systems throughout the system life cycle.
  • Maintain and control DCGS-N hardware inventory, software configurations, technical documentation, configuration items (CIs), and product releases.
  • Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and other DCGS-N configuration changes from initiation through review, approval, implementation, and closure.
  • Support Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and Local Configuration Control Boards (LCCBs), including preparation, coordination, change tracking, and implementation of approved actions.
  • Develop, maintain, and update hardware and software configuration baselines.
  • Perform configuration status accounting and maintain accurate records of configuration changes, product baselines, software versions, and implementation status.
  • Develop and implement procedures for configuration identification, configuration control, status accounting, product release, and configuration audits.
  • Provide change management and product configuration management guidance to program personnel and stakeholders.
  • Maintain configuration-controlled documentation, including CM Plans, system documentation, drawings, software documentation, user manuals, test plans, test reports, interface documentation, and other configuration-controlled artifacts.
  • Utilize configuration management tools such as CMPRO or similar systems to manage configuration records, workflows, documentation, and reporting.
  • Support physical and functional configuration audits for systems and assist with identifying and resolving configuration discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with DCGS-N engineering, Test & Evaluation (T&E), Cybersecurity, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Training, software development, and other stakeholders to ensure configuration changes are properly assessed and implemented.
  • Utilize Git and DevOps tools to support configuration management, automation, reporting, software configuration control, and product releases.
  • Assist with configuration management tool administration, user access, roles, workflows, and repositories supporting DCGS-N as required.
  • Support configuration management activities associated with system upgrades, software releases, fielding, sustainment, and operational baseline changes.
  • Ensure configuration records and technical data remain aligned with approved system baselines and delivered products.

Essential Duties of the Job:
  • Ability to communicate task requirement information to client in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as lead and participate in meetings and working groups.
  • Requires visual acuity to use a keyboard.
  • Must be able to attend work each day, during scheduled hours, unless on travel or approved time off.
  • Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face-to-face
