As a Configuration Control Specialist you'll be responsible for the coordination, review, maintenance, and revision of all technical configuration documentation within the business unit. You will work with other Configuration Control Specialists across other business units to ensure that everyone is working towards the corporate vision of configuration control.
What you'll do:
  • Reviews new Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical documents and defines impact to: applicable overhaul manuals, service bulletins, parts lists, Bill of Materials (BOM) and Unit Build Standards (UBS).
  • Coordinates the review of technical documents with engineering staff and amends applicable current company documentation including: BOM, shop orders, Company Processes (CPs) and Matrix routings that may also lead to Temporary Overhaul Data Revision (TODR) and Outside Vendor Instructions (OVI).
  • Responsible for the on-going updating of the Matrix (remanufacturing) routing system.
  • Participates in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes
  • Provides applicable Measures of Performance (MOPs) related to technical configuration documentation to the Director, Engineering (SBU) and/or the Director, Quality Improvement (SBU).
  • Responsible for creating and mastering Production Management System (PMS) part numbers, PMS routing generation/revision, PMS Master bill maintenance, and routing approval.
  • Modifies master files for: ROC, model codes, process type, PMS unit code, work centre and PMS part code.
  • Maintains accountability for the SBU format of bill of materials (BOM) and all subsequent changes.
  • Maintains Unit Bill Masterfile and controls StandardAero processes IAW OEM Tech Date updates.
  • Responsible for maintaining the central filing system for technical documentation and engineering reports within the business unit.
  • Meets with Configuration Control Specialists from other business units to facilitate and develop a consistent corporate vision of configuration control.
  • Provides training and guidance to business unit staff regarding all areas of technical documentation and engine configuration.
  • Maintains and distributes documentation system training packages for the business unit.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in Engineering Technology, or 5+ years' experience in an inspection role associated with technical documentation.
  • 1+ years of experience in an aviation/aerospace environment.

Desired Skills:
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office Skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, decision making, leadership, interpersonal, planning, oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of records management and documentation control.
  • Thorough knowledge of processes, unit build standards, temporary overhaul data revisions, and original equipment manufacturer's manuals.
