What is a Confidential Informant job?

A Confidential Informant (CI) is an individual who provides information to law enforcement agencies about criminal activity, often in exchange for money, reduced charges, or other considerations. CIs typically work undercover to gather intelligence on illegal operations, such as drug trafficking or organized crime. They are not law enforcement officers but can play a crucial role in investigations. Their identities are usually kept secret to protect their safety. However, being a CI can come with risks, as they may be required to interact with dangerous individuals.
