Job description

The Catering & Conference Services Sales Manager is responsible for securing and coordinating catering, banquet, and conference room business through proactive sales efforts and excellent client service. This role ensures successful planning, coordination, and execution of all group events, meetings, weddings, and social functions from the time of booking through the end of the event.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development:
    • Solicit new and repeat business through prospecting, networking, cold calls, site visits, and more
    • Respond to inquiries and prepare proposals and contracts based on client needs.
    • Achieve or exceed revenue and event booking goals.
  • Client Management:
    • Serve as the main point of contact for clients from contract through post-event follow-up.
    • Conduct planning meetings with clients to finalize event details (menus, room setup, audio-visual needs, timelines, etc.).
    • Provide exceptional service to build repeat and referral business.
  • Event Coordination:
    • Collaborate with banquet, culinary, audio-visual, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of events.
    • Prepare detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and group resumes.
    • Oversee on-site event execution when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Administration & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records in the sales & catering system (e.g., Delphi, Opera, or similar CRM).
    • Monitor payment schedules, billing, and contract compliance.
    • Participate in weekly sales and operations meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in catering sales, event planning, or hotel conference services.
  • Proven track record of sales success and client relationship management.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and event management software 
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends based on event needs.
