Company Overview

American Communications Solutions is hiring an Audio-Visual Installation Technician to join our team in supporting the Department of Defense. The AV installation Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and service of professional audio, video, control systems, professional lighting, and electronic equipment.

Position Overview

This position requires the ability to travel to CONUS locations.

Responsibilities
  • Operate live audio, video, and control systems during conferences, briefings, ceremonies, and other high-visibility events at the Fort Meade Conference Center.
  • Run soundboards to support live speakers, panels, and audience audio.
  • Manage microphone systems.
  • Route video content, manage source switching, and operate cameras (framing, PTZ presets, basic switching) during live events.
  • Support VTC calls (Cisco, Microsoft Teams Rooms) including pre-call testing, in-call troubleshooting, and content sharing.
  • Trouble shoot a variety of audiovisual systems for high visibility and mission critical systems.
  • Install, assemble, repair AV systems according to systems documentation and industry standards and best practices.
  • Maintain updated as-built documentation of installed systems.
  • Coordinate directly with event coordinators, presenters, security, and protocol staff before and during events.
  • Ability to read and understand project drawings and schematics, engineering notes, and operation manuals.
  • Fabricate, cable, and test equipment racks and cabinets when installation work is required.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills using tact and courtesy along with the ability to handle pressure sensitive situations with strong time management.
  • Properly and safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic test equipment.
  • Perform work on ladders or in crawl spaces of various heights and depths.
  • Work with and without direct supervision.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites as required (CONUS/OCONUS).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Experience/Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1-2 years installing audiovisual equipment including video panels, speakers, racking, microphones, A/V cabling and wiring.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
  • AVIXA CTS or CTS-I certification.
  • Crestron, Extron, or Biamp product certifications.
  • IA certification (Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).
  • Prior experience in DoD or federal conference center environments.
Special Requirements/Security Clearance
  • Possess or ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time
Salary Range

Salary Minimum: $60,000

Salary Maximum: $80,000

The annual base salary provided is a guideline for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
