Job description

Tipton is a 40-year-old, DFW based, full-service real estate firm whose primary business is 3rd party fee management. Tipton currently manages 20,000 apartment units, a number of suburban office buildings and several commercial office condominium associations. We are looking for an Accounting Manager for our Plano office. This is an in-office position and will report to the Controller.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College Degree – accounting, finance, or business majors
  • 5 years’ experience in an accounting supervisory position. Prior Accounting Manager experience a plus
  • CPA designation a plus, but not a requirement


JOB DUTIES:

  • Supervise, train, and support a team of Property Accountants
  • Review journal entries made by the accounting staff
  • Assist with monthly close out of OneSite
  • Generate preliminary financials for multiple owners
  • Detailed review of monthly financial statements for multiple owners
  • Create monthly cash flow reports
  • Review monthly balance sheet recons and ensure reconciling items are corrected in the following month
  • Interface with clients as needed relative to property accounting, reporting and distributions
  • Conduct onsite property audits
  • Calculate monthly management fees and asset management fees
  • Annual 1099 generation
  • Manage HOA accounting, audits and special assessments
  • Assist in new property onboarding and dispositions as needed
  • Assist with PBCs for annual audits
  • Assist with projects as needed
