Job description

Are you ready to take the next step in your career as a Vibration Analyst with Valmet?

At Valmet, we continue to develop and grow our footprint in the field of asset management, including Condition Monitoring. We are seeking a Condition Monitoring System Specialist to take the lead in expanding our delivery capabilities, as well as assist in sales and marketing of our on-line DMM condition monitoring system as well as our off-line Maintenance Pad products.

Are you the specialist we are looking for? If you have a background in delivery and engineering of asset health monitoring or control systems, plus knowledge of vibration monitoring and analysis, and you can pair those with your natural drive and customer commitment, you could be the successful candidate.

By becoming our expert on condition monitoring systems, you will enjoy a varied and challenging role including the following:

  • Responsible for regular remote connection to Customer systems to monitor and report on performance.

  • Remotely connecting to systems to audit usage and/or to proactively aid our customers in troubleshooting and resolving field level issues.

  • Responsible for front-line support services for our software and hardware offerings.

  • Assist customers to interpret the vibration analysis results through Valmet's Industrial Internet portfolio.

  • Provide technical assistance to our sale force when selling new systems.

  • Take the lead in new system deliveries and system upgrades.

  • Perform system level engineering, commissioning, and provide training for our customers.

  • Actively look for sales to Expand and Upgrade existing systems.

Requirements:

  • To be an excellent match, you have previous experience in condition monitoring of rotating equipment and are comfortable working with condition monitoring software and understanding your customers' processes. Possession of a category II or higher vibration analysis certificate is a definite advantage.

  • Importantly, you should have the ability to apply your mechanical and electrical background to learn new skills. You have system software configuration skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and aid others when evaluating field hardware.


In this role, the following requirements are important for success:

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical discipline.

  • Vibration analysis certification of category II or higher.

  • Knowledge of Valmet customer industries; pulp, paper and energy.

  • Strong customer orientation.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Some experience with presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Strong motivation to grow the Condition Monitoring business.

  • The ability to travel up to 70% of the time within North America and occasionally overseas.
