Job description

Job Title: Precast Concrete Testing Technician
Department: Quality Control
Reports To: QC Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking a Precast Concrete Testing Technician to support our quality control team by performing daily concrete and aggregate testing. This role helps ensure our concrete mixes meet quality standards and project specifications. The technician will collect and test cylinders, perform aggregate moisture and gradation testing, maintain laboratory equipment, and record test results.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and label concrete cylinders from production daily
  • Perform next-day and 28-day compressive strength testing
  • Conduct daily aggregate moisture testing and weekly gradation testing
  • Record and maintain accurate testing data in the company system
  • Maintain curing tanks and proper cylinder storage
  • Perform basic maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Keep the laboratory clean, organized, and operating safely
  • Communicate testing results with the QC and production teams
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in concrete testing, construction materials testing, or laboratory work preferred
  • Familiarity with compression testing machines and aggregate testing methods is a plus
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification a plus
  • Have a valid driverโ€™s license

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the shift
  • Ability to work around wet concrete, dust, and testing equipment
