CONCRETE FINISHER

Position Summary

XB Construction is seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher to participate in all aspects of construction projects from foundation to finish work across commercial, agricultural, and residential sites. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing concrete construction tasks on all project sites, ensuring quality workmanship, coordinating with other team members, and maintaining a safe working environment while making efficient use of all available resources.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Concrete Work

•       Provide hands-on leadership in the execution of structural concrete work, rebar installation, concrete pouring, and finishing

•       Build and strip concrete forms

•       Mix gravel aggregate, cement, and water to the proper consistency

•       Form, finish, and texture concrete using the latest techniques and tools

•       Perform concrete repair and maintenance

•       Work with buckets and pump truck to place concrete

Site Preparation & Equipment

•       Dig and prepare dirt to ensure proper dimensions and compaction for a successful pour

•       Clean and prepare sites to eliminate any possible hazards

•       Load and unload materials, machinery, and tools as needed

•       Operate motorized equipment, including power tools, saws, and other machinery

Coordination & Communication

•       Collaborate with other employees to create and maintain a detailed project schedule, ensuring all concrete work aligns with project milestones

•       Communicate clearly with the team, maintaining close attention to detail on every pour

Qualifications

Required

•       Minimum of 2 years of experience in all phases of commercial concrete structural construction

•       Masonry experience required

•       Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding construction plans

•       Strong knowledge of concrete construction methods, codes, and standards

•       Knowledge of various concrete finishing techniques and materials

•       Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical labor

•       Ability to work outside in various weather conditions

•       Comfortable operating hand tools and power tools (saws, mixers, and similar equipment)

•       Must adhere to all safety requirements at all times

•       Must be able to commute to the job site

•       High school diploma or equivalent
