Job description

CWM is seeking a dedicated and skilled Concrete Finisher to join our concrete flat work and bridge crew. The primary responsibility of this position is to smooth wet concrete after a pour and assist with all tasks related to concrete work. Concrete Finishers will be expected to work nights and weekends as needed and must provide their own transportation to and from the work site.
In addition to finishing concrete, the Concrete Finisher will be involved in various tasks across the job site, including formwork, steel setting, erosion control setup, equipment operation, and general cleanup. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Smooth and finish concrete surfaces after a pour, ensuring a high-quality finish.
  • Assist in building and erecting wood and metal forms for concrete placement.
  • Set and tie steel for reinforcing concrete structures.
  • Pour concrete and ensure proper application on job sites.
  • Set up and maintain erosion control measures.
  • Load and unload materials as needed for the project.
  • Shovel dirt, gravel, and asphalt, preparing surfaces for concrete work.
  • Perform general site cleanup to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Check and maintain grade stakes to ensure correct elevation and alignment.
  • Set up and maintain traffic control aids for the safety of crew members and the public.
  • Operate backhoes, skid steer loaders, and other equipment as needed.
  • Drive small trucks, flatbeds, water trucks, and sand trucks for material transport.
  • Ensure maintenance of all tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in concrete finishing or related concrete work is preferred.
  • Ability to build, set, and maintain forms, as well as pour and finish concrete.
  • Familiarity with operating construction equipment such as backhoes and skid steer loaders.
  • Ability to set up and maintain erosion control and traffic control systems.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as required by project schedules.
  • Must have personal transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
