To thrive as a Concrete Laborer, you need basic construction knowledge, physical stamina, and familiarity with concrete mixing and finishing techniques, often learned on the job or through vocational training. Experience using tools such as trowels, screeds, power mixers, and occasionally laser levels is common, and OSHA safety certification is often preferred. Concrete laborers often work in physically demanding environments, dealing with heavy materials and exposure to varying weather conditions. Common challenges include managing fatigue, ensuring safety when handling equipment, and maintaining precision while pouring and finishing concrete. Many employers provide on-the-job training and encourage teamwork to help new laborers adapt and grow in their roles.

  • Familiarity with tools, materials, and equipment used in field construction work
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel for work
  • Dependable, mature, and able to work well in the field with minimal supervision

Pay and Benefits

  • Pay: $20 to $28 per hour, based on experience
  • Company-paid health insurance for employees (100% covered)
  • 35% employer contribution toward family coverage
  • 401(k) with 4% match
  • 2 weeks PTO to start
  • 6 sick days per year

Why FullTerra
