THE JOB

The Director of Communications, Concerts will lead the development and execution of strategic communications initiatives supporting Live Nation Concerts' touring business at both the national and local level. This role is responsible for driving impactful media strategies: building buzz, telling better stories, and making sure the press and fans feel the magic behind the shows.

As a key member of the communications team, this individual will oversee integrated publicity campaigns across Live Nation's roster of touring artists, partnering cross-functionally with internal teams, artist management, promoters, marketers, and external media partners to deliver compelling storytelling and high-impact earned media opportunities throughout the tour lifecycle.

The Director of Communications, Concerts will play a critical role in shaping narratives, identifying cultural and media opportunities, and executing innovative communications strategies that amplify Live Nation's touring business. This role reports to the VP, Global Touring Communications for Live Nation Concerts.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Lead and oversee national and local communications strategies for Live Nation Concerts touring artists, driving impactful press campaigns throughout the full tour lifecycle
  • Develop and execute communications plans that elevate artist tour visibility and support broader business objectives across tours and live events
  • Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with key national, regional, trade, and emerging media outlets, as well as influential voices across digital, podcast, social, and creator platforms
  • Create and oversee the development and distribution of press materials, including press releases, media alerts, pitches, executive messaging, talking points, briefing documents, and artist interview materials
  • Pitch, secure, and manage high-profile media opportunities for touring talent and executives, including feature stories, broadcast appearances, cover opportunities, press days, junkets, conferences, and experiential activations
  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor to internal stakeholders, artists, managers, promoters, and executives on media positioning, strategy and narrative development
  • Manage incoming media inquiries and sensitive and crisis communications matters, ensuring timely, accurate, and brand-aligned responses on behalf of Live Nation artists and leadership
  • Lead proactive storytelling initiatives that extend beyond traditional media, leveraging social-first content, influencer engagement, podcasts, cultural moments, and emerging platforms to amplify campaigns and audience engagement
  • Develop creative campaign narratives and long-term storytelling strategies that sustain artist visibility and fan engagement throughout tour cycles at both the national and local level
  • Monitor the evolving media landscape, identifying emerging trends, platforms, and cultural opportunities to drive innovation across communications strategies
  • Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance, including earned media impact, audience engagement, sentiment analysis, social amplification, and overall communications effectiveness
  • Partner with marketing, social, digital, artist relations, business leaders, and global communications teams to align messaging and maximize campaign impact
  • Collaborate with global market communications leads to ensure consistency, coordination, and strategic alignment across international touring campaigns
  • Lead or support high-priority communications initiatives and special announcements
  • Deliver a best-in-class experience for artists, management teams, media partners, and industry stakeholders
  • Support trade and industry communications efforts, including thought leadership opportunities, touring success stories, company milestones, and executive positioning
  • Manage and mentor junior communications team members, fostering professional development, collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum 8+ years experience in communications and PR
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have strong relationships within the Music & Entertainment Industry
  • Experience in communicating, pitching, and securing national media required
  • Good eye for detail, writing ability, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work day, evening and weekend hours, based on the needs of daily business operations, plus travel as needed
  • Ability to multitask several projects while meeting assigned deadlines
  • Interested in the music business with leadership ability and strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) as well as Google Drive including Google Docs, Slides and Sheets
  • Understanding of social media, social editorial and influencer landscape
  • Previous experience using Trendkite, Muckrack and Critical Mention a plus
  • Experience in managing and mentoring junior team-members
