Wisconsin Athletics is seeking a driven and experienced professional to join our wellestablished Event Management team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play the primary role in supporting concerts and major live events at Camp Randall Stadium and the Kohl Center while also assisting with event operations for our 23 UW athletic programs.

In this role, you will serve as a key liaison for event promoters and production managers throughout every stage of the event process. Responsibilities include communicating with partners during preevent planning, overseeing onsite execution, and assisting with postevent settlement. The position requires careful coordination of all event needs based on client contracts, production riders, and venue requirements to ensure every detail is executed at the highest level.

Alongside concert and special event duties, the role also includes supporting the broader event management team working at various athletic contests and department events. Candidate will have primary responsibility for managing a specific sport, depending on departmental needs and the candidate's strengths.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about booking, concerts, and live events, and will demonstrate strong motivation, adaptability, and the ability to remain levelheaded in a fast-paced environment. Success in this position requires a teamoriented mindset, a strong work ethic, excellent organization, and creativity in problem-solving. The person selected for this role should thrive under pressure and bring a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for all event participants and guests.

Position title (Event Manager or Senior Event Manager) will be determined based on candidates' years of experience in arena and/or stadium operations.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitors the budget and approves expenditures
  • Establishes and executes day-to-day operational functions and goals of events to align with existing strategy
  • Establishes and sustains relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
  • Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures

Compensation:

The minimum starting salary will be $65,000, but may be negotiable based on candidate qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2+ years' related experience working in a multipurpose arena or stadium setting of a similar size (8,000 to 60,000 seats) is required to pass the initial screening process.
  • Industry knowledge: booking experience, proficient in AutoCAD, facility operations, event coordination and event-related services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Event management experience with basketball or hockey is preferred but not required.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Sports/Event Management, Hospitality, Theater and Drama, Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience in field.
