Job description

MTSI is seeking a motivated and proactive journeyman systems administrator with a good understanding of modern networks, hardware and software to support a large office at Wright-Patterson AFB. This position requires independent critical thinking, technical expertise, and attention to detail. The position is part of a larger team managing on-premises and guest networks in a classified work environment.

The incumbent will be responsible for staying current with the latest technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. This role requires technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. The work location is in Dayton, OH.

Responsibilities: Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to: Administration o Implementation, configuration, operations, and maintenance of multiple classified and unclassified networked systems. o Maintain inventory control records for equipment and software. o Provide VTC support for various classified systems.

o Manage installation of system patches and enhancements/updates and ensure system integrity is not compromised. o Assigned as a COMSEC Responsible Officer. Tracks inventory or COMSEC assets on the COMSEC inventory and the associated equipment account.

Responsible for coordinating network device rekeys. Completed subsequent destruction documentation. o Performs ITAM custodian duties.

Issues government funded equipment. Tracks locations of each device. Manages destruction processes for devices which are no longer in use.

Transfers devices between units. Software Specific Knowledge o Install and configure applications software and the establishment of user environments. Support o Define/resolve information technology issues; provide troubleshooting/Helpdesk support.

o Analyze and diagnose system failures to isolate source of problems. Perform testing, troubleshoot, and correct complex or unusual problems involving interface and interoperability of system components such as hardware, systems software, and applications programs. o Identify corrective or preventive procedures and takes actions to rectify immediate problems and prevent future occurrences.

o Troubleshoot and analyze hardware and software malfunctions to resolve physical and logical processing problems and recommend acquisition of equipment, software and/or hardware which will resolve operational problems. o Completes account modifications for users to include organizational account creations, security group corrections and creating distribution groups. Handles in-processing and out-processing of users.

Qualifications Required: 5 years of progressive systems administration experience in Linux and/or Windows environments. CompTIA Security+ Certification. Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, FTP, SSH, IP CONFIG).

Knowledge of DoD security and compliance frameworks, especially RMF, STIGs, and cybersecurity controls. Experience in Technical Support, Cloud Computing, Information Security, and Compliance. Proficiency with Active Directory, domain controllers, IP addressing, DNS, remote access, VLANs, and VoIP systems.

Education: Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field (e.g., cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering). Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Even better if you have these desired skills: Experience working in SAP/SCI facilities/programs highly desired
