Lanteris Space Systems is hiring a COMSEC Account Manager (CAM). In this role, you will be responsible for the safeguarding, accountability, and control of all Communications Security (COMSEC) materials in accordance with applicable National Security Agency (NSA), Department of Defense (DoD), and federal regulations. This role ensures strict compliance with all governing policies and procedures while supporting secure communications operations across programs. The CAM works closely with Engineering, Program Management, and IT teams to maintain operational integrity and security posture. This role is based onsite in our Palo Alto, CA office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain full accountability and control of all COMSEC material, including cryptographic keys, equipment, and related documentation
  • Ensure strict compliance with NSA, DoD, and federal COMSEC policies, procedures, and regulations (e.g., CNSSI, EKMS/KMI guidance)
  • Perform COMSEC inventory management, audits, and reconciliation in accordance with required schedules
  • Manage receipt, storage, distribution, transfer, and destruction of COMSEC materials
  • Maintain accurate records using approved COMSEC accounting systems (e.g., KMI)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for COMSEC-related inspections and audits
  • Develop, implement, and enforce local COMSEC procedures and standard operating instructions (SOIs)
  • Identify, report, and remediate COMSEC incidents, discrepancies, or security violations
  • Provide training and guidance to personnel handling COMSEC materials
  • Partner with Engineering teams to support secure system integration and cryptographic implementations
  • Collaborate with Program Management to ensure COMSEC requirements are incorporated into program execution
  • Work with IT/security teams to align COMSEC practices with enterprise cybersecurity controls
  • Support accreditation and compliance activities, including RMF and security assessments

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Poly eligibility
  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience
  • Formal COMSEC training (e.g., NSA COMSEC Account Manager Course or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience managing a COMSEC account in a DoD or federal environment
  • Knowledge of NSA, DoD, and federal COMSEC regulations and policies
  • Experience with Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) or Electronic Key Management System (EKMS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting classified programs or secure communications environments
  • Familiarity with cryptographic equipment and keying material lifecycle management
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and information assurance practices

In support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

The base pay for this position within California is: $111,000.00 - $185,000.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
