Job description

As a CAD Technician at Creative Environments, you will be responsible for creating detailed and accurate design plans. You will work closely with designers to develop and refine drawings, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and precision. Your role involves interpreting design concepts, making necessary revisions, and effectively communicating with team members to achieve project goals. This position requires a blend of technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate within a dynamic team environment. Guidance and support from management will be available to help you succeed and grow in your role.


Duties/Responsibilities:
Collaborate with landscape designers to convert sketches into precise CAD drawings
Use CAD software to create visually engaging designs with efficient time usage
Develop detailed, accurate legends identifying all design aspects
Maintain communication with designers to verify information and provide updates
Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe PDF, email, word processing, and spreadsheets
Apply mathematical skills to interpret design specifications accurately
Demonstrate critical thinking to optimize outcomes for clients
Revise plans as requested by CAD Manager, Designers, Executives
Learn and implement standards set for all drawings in the CAD Department
Implement proper calculations needed to produce accurate legends
Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
Required Skills/Abilities:
Fundamental proficiency in CAD & Adobe
Ability to create accurate and detailed design plans with precision.
Working knowledge of pool & landscape design principles
Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage tasks efficiently and meet deadlines
Ability to identify and resolve design issues with guidance
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take feedback

Education and Experience:
• 1-3 years experience as a CAD Drafter in an Landscape Architecture or Architecture firm
• Associate's degree or higher in CAD, Drafting, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field is preferred
• Relevant certifications in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) are highly desirable


Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer
• Frequent use of hands for typing, mouse control, and operating office equipment
• Excellent eye-hand coordination and visual acuity to distinguish details in technical drawings and computer screens
• Ability to perform repetitive motions such as typing and mouse movements
• Ability to stand, walk, & use stairs occasionally for site visits or meetings
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 20 pounds, such as laptops, documents, and supplies
• Clear communication skills for discussing projects with team members and clients
• Comfortable working in a typical office environment with standard lighting and temperature controls
