THE OPPORTUNITY

ER2 is seeking a hands-on IT Hardware Configuration & Refurbishment Technician to support device deployment, testing, repair, and refurbishment operations. This role plays an important part in helping extend the life of technology through responsible IT asset management and redeployment.

  • Schedule:Monday Friday | 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
  • Compensation:$21$25/hour DOE
  • Reports To: Director of ITAM


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Device Configuration & Deployment

  • Configure, provision, and deploy laptops, desktops, and other IT equipment
  • Utilize IT Asset Management (ITAM) systems and deployment tools such as Autopilot
  • Complete custom device builds and ensure proper asset tagging and labeling

Hardware Refurbishment & Repair

  • Test, diagnose, reimage, refurbish, and repair returned equipment
  • Perform hardware upgrades and component replacements as needed
  • Clean, sanitize, package, and prepare equipment for redeployment

Quality Control & Documentation

  • Verify configured and refurbished devices meet company and client standards
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, RMAs, warranty claims, and asset activity
  • Assist with inventory organization and spare parts tracking

Troubleshooting & Team Support

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Collaborate with operations, inventory, and project teams to coordinate workflow
  • Assist with onboarding and training new technicians as needed

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Follow data security, asset handling, and electronic waste disposal procedures
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and workflow organization
  • Stay current on relevant tools, technologies, and best practices


THE VITALS

  • 2+ years of experience in IT hardware configuration, repair, or refurbishment preferred
  • CompTIA A+ preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Experience with automated deployment tools such as Autopilot is a plus
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of IT asset management processes
  • Comfortable working with computer hardware components and installations
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and time management skills
