General Job Summary
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining facilities in a way that creates a safe and pleasant environment for both our team and our customers. This position is a key liaison between store leadership and the Director of Operations Support and must strongly represent our vision, mission and core values. This individual must be focused on identifying opportunities to make our facilities and equipment better, communicating those opportunities to the Support Center and then executing agreed upon solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must utilize safety gear and practices in accordance with company safety guidelines.
  • Required to maintain accurate records of all work associated with repairs and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and repair systems inside facilities; including but not limited to lighting, phone systems, computer wiring, plumbing, electrical, etc.
  • Complete safety/facilities audits as needed. These audits address important safety protocols such as working fire doors, proper clearance between product and sprinklers, tripping hazards, etc.
  • Maintain facility condition as needed; including but not limited to carpentry, drywall, painting, floor tile replacement, etc.
  • Test, maintain and/or repair equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, floor machines, etc. in order to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Participate in special projects including but not limited to relocation of checkouts, relocation of Helpful Hub/paint counters, moving fixtures, purging storage areas, etc.
  • Execute updates to enhance the store environment such as removing vestibules, replacing ceiling tile, relocating doors for operational efficiency
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all store associates and management, the Support Center team, vendors, suppliers, etc.

Minimum Skills, Requirements and Qualifications
  • 5-7 years related experience and/or training preferred: or equivalent combination.
  • Certifications to drive commercial van and/or box truck and operate a forklift are required.
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Overnight travel up to 25%.
  • Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50lbs) and climbing.
