Job description

The Warn Group believes that every team member plays a significant role in our success. We enable our customers with the tools they need to work and play outdoors. This position description is designed to outline the primary duties of the role, qualifications, and job scope. Just as we do not want our customers to be limited in the outdoor space, we do not want to limit our team members nor the organization to just the work that is identified. It is our expectation that each team member will serve their customers wherever, whenever necessary to ensure the success of our endeavors.

Position Summary:

Working with minimal supervision, this position supports and administers Warn Industriesโ€™ CAD/PLM (computer-aided design/product lifecycle management) systems. Serves as the application administrator and Subject Matter Expert (SME) of Teamcenter PLM and its integrations to NX CAD and SolidWorks, maintaining system uptime and performance, and performing issues resolution in parallel with objectives of Engineering team. The role may include responsibility to lead support people who are part of the CAD/PLM team. This administrator may also draft and propose the companyโ€™s CAD/PLM procedures and, with the support of the Director, execute and support it. This position includes support of CAD/PLM users through direct interaction, training and user groups. Also includes participation in system/software upgrades and improvements that will affect Warn Industriesโ€™ CAD/PLM environment. The CAD/PLM Administrator is expected to work with WARNโ€™s engineering teams, software vendors, and IT team to implement a long-term vision of building Warn Industriesโ€™ CAD/PLM system into a world class product development tool.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide direct support to CAD/PLM users.
  2. Schedule, facilitate, and oversee meetings for the CAD/PLM usersโ€™ group.
  3. Facilitate and lead large tactical projects supporting the companyโ€™s CAD/PLM environment.
  4. Plan, coordinate, and manage training programs for CAD/PLM users in alignment with organization growth goals.
  5. Develop, implement, and enforce CAD/PLM system procedures.
  6. Work with internal and external support personnel to troubleshoot and solve CAD and PLM system problems quickly.
  7. Lead and/or work with internal and/or external support personnel to evaluate hardware and software that impact the CAD/PLM environment.
  8. Ensure that the CAD/PLM system complies with established design control procedures.
  9. Build and leverage relationships across both Warn and the Warn Group to address complex CAD/PLM needs, participating in a shared services model.
  10. Participate in large projects supporting the companyโ€™s CAD/PLM strategic improvements and upgrades.
  11. May perform other duties as assigned by team leader.
  12. Configure, and maintain current versions of Teamcenter, NX, SolidWorks, and Teamcenter integrations to CAD and ERP, working closely with internal and external support personnel.
  13. As required, lead and help direct CAD/PLM team members.
  14. Deploy, maintain and monitor the Engineering Change processes including timely ECN completion cycles.
  15. Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled, as well as after-hours system maintenance and upgrades, as required.
  16. May participate in WARN selection process as necessary.
  17. Accountable for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in assigned area. Responsible for design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, including a self-assessment and report to management.
  18. Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  1. Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, a related field or equivalent technical training and experience.
  2. At least four years of application administration and support experience working with PLM and CAD software.
  3. At least four years of practical experience in product design and release, or a 4 โ€“year mechanical engineering degree.
  4. Proven project management skills.
  5. Education or training in Configuration Management, basic principles and approach.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Working administrator-level knowledge of Teamcenter, NX CAD, and SolidWorks software are preferred.
  2. Ability to provide advanced Administrative Support of current Teamcenter, NX CAD and SolidWorks systems.
  3. Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Project).
  4. Ability to engage outside professional resources in support of WARN's PLM and CAD systems.
  5. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
  7. Advanced ability to effectively problem-solve.
  8. Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  9. Ability to facilitate activities necessary to a projectโ€™s completion.
  10. Working knowledge of FEA (finite element analysis) preferred.
  11. Strong communication and presentation skills of complex topics with users and Management.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other team members. Conflict resolution skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Mathematical Skills:

Must have mathematical skills equivalent to those required under degree requirement.

Physical and Visual Activities:

Must communicate frequently with employees and vendors; must be able to exchange accurate technical information in these situations. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time (or for four hours at a time).

Environment/Atmospheric Conditions:

This position is performed in an office environment. May be necessary to work in a shop environment as job duties require. May be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals, and vapors.
