• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate clients' needs and develop tailored treatment plans specific to each individual.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, utilizing techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions and psychoeducational workshops addressing relevant mental health issues, thereby creating a supportive community among patients.
• Collaborate closely with fellow counselors, psychiatrists, and psychologists to ensure integrated, continuous care and to discuss complex cases during consultation meetings.
• Deliver crisis intervention services and immediate therapeutic support during critical mental health situations.
• Educate clients about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources to empower them in their recovery journey.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities and stay current with advancements in the mental health field through continuing education opportunities.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Productive Mind Counseling, you will work with a diverse client base facing a wide array of challenges, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. We are particularly focused on delivering culturally sensitive and individualized services that cater to the unique needs of each patient, recognizing the diverse backgrounds and experiences they bring to therapy.

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in New York State.
• Strong foundational knowledge of a variety of mental health disorders and effective, evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Experience conducting comprehensive mental health evaluations and crafting effective treatment strategies.
• Competent in providing individual and group therapy to various populations, demonstrating flexibility in approaches as needed.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing for positive patient interactions and collaborations with team members.
• Adherence to professional ethics and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all patient interactions.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and a proficiency in general computer applications.
• A collaborative spirit to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering mental health services in an outpatient or clinical setting.
• Experience working with specific populations such as adolescents, the LGBTQ+ community, or individuals with substance use issues.
• Previous involvement in training or mentorship roles within a mental health context.
