Job description

Summary:
The CAD Draftsman operates AutoCAD computer system, including creating, updating and modifying drawings, and performs manual drafting.

Essential Functions:

  • Creates AutoCAD drawings for projects.
  • Creates and modifies Architectural details for upcoming projects.
  • Scans/Copies project drawings as needed.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation pertinent to individual projects.
  • Communicates with external and internal contacts in person and on telephone, answers questions and directs to appropriate individual when necessary.
  • Works closely with architects contractors and independent reps.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Competencies:

  • Proficient with Architectural Drawings, AutoCAD software.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to manage several projects at one time.
  • Must have computer literacy with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Windows.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associateโ€™s degree or completion of a technical trade school in AutoCAD, drafting or related field.
  • At least one-two years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Work Environment:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

  • This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required.
  • This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position.
  • Entry Level Non-exempt.
  • Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM โ€“ 4:30 PM โ€“ Day shift.
  • Hours may be flexible.
