Job Description
BytedCubed is seeking an experienced Back-End Tester to join our fast growing IT firm working on cutting-edge big data technologies to work on-location at our headquarters in Arlington, Virginia
The ideal candidate will be accustomed to working in Web applications and should have actively involved in various types of testing such as Functional, System, Stress, Performance, Integration, Regression, Database, and Beta. We are open to reviewing candidates on a contract basis, contract-to-hire basis, or permanent basis.
Due to the nature of this particular role for our federal government client, US Citizenship is required. Candidates who are not US Citizens will NOT be considered.
Responsibilities included, but not limited to:
• Actively involved in release planning and estimate test efforts
• Collaborate and test in an Agile development environment
• Analyze and communicate test results to team and manager
• Track and Manage defects logged by QA
• Track production defects and qualify those on a timely basis
• Work closely with manager on implementing automation strategies, document all bugs in a tracking tool, and follow best QA practices at all times
• Complete the tasks on time, communicate any impediments to the team, and deliver a high quality software
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of testing experience for software, Web applications, and/or Mobile
• Must have ability to write basic SQL queries to perform database testing
• Proven track record of testing SaaS and PaaS solutions.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to find the root cause of issues highly preferred.
• Strong time management skills needed as product needs to be released to production on a timely basis
• Experience working with automation scripts is requited.
• Experience in planning, documenting, and reviewing test cases/suites
• Experience with manual functional and regression testing
• Significant experience testing a cross browser web applications
• Excellent culture fit and ability to collaborate with the team
• Expert at QA methodologies, tools and approaches
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed.
• Passion of continued learning and motivation to improve the quality of product is preferred
• US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven track record of working on multiple projects at a time and adhering to strict deadlines
• Experience working with Selenium and testing Web APIs is a plus
