Job Summary:

Under close supervision, this position is responsible for gaining foundational knowledge of tools, equipment, shop safety, and J.B. Hunt Shop rules, policies, and procedures. The incumbent will learn to become efficient in, but not limited to, Air Break Systems and FHWA Inspections and the general repairs associated with them. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shadow a more senior team member to learn to perform repairs to company and manufacturer's specifications complete work orders, and train to be efficient in company requirements forstandard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines

  • Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures

  • Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers at all times

  • Train to become efficient in routine preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, basic repair as it pertains to air brake systems, and FHWA Inspections

Shift Schedule: Shifts may vary based upon location and business needs.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences:

  • Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program

  • Willingness to work outdoors in the elements

  • Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed


Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

  • Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively

  • Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)

  • Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)

This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
