Job description

Oak View Group (OVG) is the global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, with a platform spanning venue development and end-to-end capabilities across venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. Founded in 2015, the company serves a collection of seven world-class owned venues and a client roster of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions, spanning four continents. 


Reporting to the Head Curling Ice Technician, the Curling Ice Technician is responsible for, but not limited to, assisting in the production and maintenance of the curling ice. This includes surface preparation, painting, sponsor logo installation, and ice preparation for league or bonspiel play as well as assistance with proper rock conditioning and maintenance. Moreover, you will be a part of a team to ensure the safety and security of the facility, upkeep of cleaning standards, and provision of a positive work environment. Work with other employees but with the customers too.  

This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00-$25.00 CAD

This is a seasonal role from September 14, 2026, and will end on April 9, 2027.

This position will remain open until August 14, 2026.


  • Maintain the curling facility in the areas of ice maintenance.
  • Performs regular ice making and maintenance duties. 
  • Ensures a quality ice surface and a safe curling rink environment are maintained for patrons. 
  • Assists in the annual startup activities, including but not limited to maintenance and ice-making operations (i.e., servicing the refrigeration plant, preparation of the floor and walkways, flooding, ice painting, line installation, and circle scribing and painting).
  • Shaves, pebbles, and sweeps the ice areas. 
  • Assist with ongoing maintenance, cleaning, and care of curling rocks and other curling assets.  
  • Cleans, vacuums, and performs maintenance on the “ice side."
  • Assist with end-of-season shutdown, cleaning, repairs, and maintenance.  
  • Adheres to all policy and safety guidelines as outlined in policy and procedure manuals. 
  • Assist with the transition of the space to and from non-curling events if required. 
  • Assist with changing draws' schedules. 
  • Work independently and under minimal supervision. 
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns. 
  • Responsible for filling out daily checklists and safety inspection reports of equipment. 
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of Canadian Curling Association Level 1 Curling Ice Technician’s Assistant certification.
  • WHIMIS certification. 
  • First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.  
  • Deal courteously, effectively, and tactfully with the general public and building vendors to offer the best customer experience possible. 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
