Job Title: Teacher Assistant, Fulltime
Reports to: Lead Teacher / Principal
Location: Rhodora J. Donahue Academy | Ave Maria, FL
Classification: Hourly/Nonexempt
Overview:
Rhodora J. Donahue Academy is seeking a full time teacher's assistant. Established in 2007, Rhodora J. Donahue Academy offers a Catholic classical education where students encounter Christ and pursue excellence in all things. Our students will deepen their love of God, each other, and the truth. They will learn to see truths in relation to each other so that they illuminate each other and reality, leading to an appreciation for the unity of all truth.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist classroom teacher in planning, designing and implementing curriculum.
  • Provide assistance as directed by the lead teacher.
  • Assists in maintaining classroom management plan, student behavior and classroom order.
  • Assist students with carrying out classroom activities.
  • Assist students during lunchtime.
  • Implement age-appropriate activities and monitor safety throughout.
  • Maintain student records and perform other clerical duties as directed by the lead teacher.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized classroom.
  • Ensure sanitation of all surfaces and equipment.
  • Assist students in social skills development.
  • Assist in putting up bulletin boards.
  • Assist in student bathroom breaks.
  • Take attendance and make copies as directed by the lead teacher.
  • Prepare and distribute work as directed by the lead teacher.
  • Provide guidance and redirection as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with children
  • Strong communications skills both written and. oral.
  • Ability to work with children from Kindergarten through Middle School.
  • Proficiency with computer network systems and software programs.
  • Ability to use technology to enhance student learning.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Undergoing a FDLE Level 2 background check.
