Job description

Job Description Summary:

Fenwick is seeking a Temporary Financial Systems Analyst who will act as a critical link between the Firm's financial operations and its technology platforms. This role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the Firm's financial applications while contributing to ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency through automation and evolving technology, including AI-enabled tools.
This position ensures the stability and performance of financial platforms, provides high-quality end-user support, develops and maintains integrations, and participates in system upgrades and enhancements. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical thinking, technical aptitude, and a practical approach to improving processes and user experience effectively bridging the areas of finance and technology in a law firm environment.
This position is a full-time exempt role and can be based in any of our U.S. office locations and some remote locations. The estimated duration for this temporary assignment is 12 months.

Job Description:

  • Serve as the primary support resource for the Firm's financial applications.
  • Administer systems, including user setup, access controls, and security maintenance.
  • Perform database-level support, including working with the accounting siftware data structures, SQL tables, and queries.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application, workflow, and integration issues to minimize disruption to financial operations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and document business and technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
  • Use APIs, database tools and available automation solutions to extend system functionality and improve the integration between applications.
  • Participate in software implementations, upgrades, testing and validation efforts.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization, including through automation and AI-assisted capabilities where appropriate.
  • Support reporting and data analysis needs by helping ensure accurate, consistent, and well-structured system data.
  • Assist users in leveraging system features and tools, including emerging capabilities that enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and support activities thoroughly.
  • Communicate technical concepts and solutions clearly to non-technical users.
  • Maintain strong working relationships across Finance and other departments.
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive financial and client data, including appropriate use of AI-enabled tools.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Basic to intermediate SQL querying and report writing skills
    • Experience in Aderant application administration, including user setup and security configuration
    • Familiarity with workflows, system integrations, and API usage
    • Exposure to automation tools (e.g., Power Automate or similar platforms)
    • Familiarity with AI-assisted features within business applications or reporting tools is a plus
    • General understanding of data quality, structure, and governance as it relates to reporting and analytics
    • Experience with Aderant Classic and Aderant Expert applications and modules a plus
    • Strong understanding of Aderant database architecture, SQL tables, and data structures a plus

  • Experience: At least five (5) years of relevant experience supporting financial systems, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.

The anticipated range for this position is:

$84,000 - $120,000

Depending on the role, the actual base salary offered may depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

A discretionary bonus for eligible employees may also be available based on performance. Additional information about employee eligibility for benefits and discretionary bonus will be made available upon request.
