Position Summary

As a Low Voltage CAD Designer, you will play an essential role in designing the technology infrastructure that powers today’s intelligent buildings.

Working alongside project managers, engineers, estimators, and field teams, you will develop accurate construction drawings that guide successful installations from design through project completion.

Your work will directly contribute to projects that thousands of people use every day.

What You’ll Do

Create and maintain AutoCAD drawings for:

  • Structured Cabling Systems
  • Fiber Optic Infrastructure
  • Copper Cabling
  • Access Control Systems
  • CCTV & Video Surveillance
  • Network Infrastructure
  • Telecommunications Rooms
  • Equipment Rack Layouts
  • Device Placement Drawings

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Develop floor plans, riser diagrams, rack elevations, one-line diagrams, and installation details.
  • Prepare construction drawings, shop drawings, permit packages, and project submittals.
  • Convert field redlines into accurate as-built drawings.
  • Coordinate drawing revisions with project managers, engineers, and installation teams.
  • Maintain drawing revisions and document control throughout project life cycles.
  • Coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to minimize construction conflicts.
  • Maintain CAD standards, templates, symbols, blocks, and layer management.
  • Organize electronic project documentation and drawing files.
  • Produce accurate, professional documentation that supports successful project execution.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of AutoCAD drafting experience.
  • Experience in low-voltage, electrical, telecommunications, MEP, or construction industries.
  • Advanced AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Experience preparing construction drawings and technical documentation.
  • Understanding of structured cabling, CCTV, access control, telecommunications, or networking systems.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and construction drawings.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Revit, BIM, or Bluebeam Revu.
  • Familiarity with permitting and construction documentation processes.
  • Experience creating as-built drawing packages for project turnover.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
