Job description

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Computer System Analyst III will utilize Agile methodologies to lead and manage the software development efforts required to design, develop and maintain a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline in support of Advanced Interactive Management Technology Center (AIMTC) systems. This is a contingent position expected to be located in Newport, RI.

What You'll Do
  • Develop, design, and maintain web applications in collaboration with team members to develop scalable and high-performing web-based software solutions in accordance with the requirements and within the specified Government schedule.
  • Collaborate with AIMTC clients, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for web applications, ensuring that the developed solutions meet business needs, are aligned technical direction and meet the specified Government schedule.
  • During the software development phase, prioritize code quality, readability, maintainability, efficiency, using appropriate data structures and algorithms, minimizing resource usage, and ensure scalability in accordance with AIMTC coding standards.
  • Utilize standardized software engineering principles, including but not limited to Agile methodologies, Automated test coverage, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), to ensure consistency and reliability in the development process.
  • Participate in peer code reviews on a monthly basis, during which the software development team shall review the assigned code to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices, with constructive feedback provided in a discussion format during developer meetings, as assigned by the AIMTC software engineer or the AIMTC technical lead.
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications, perform regular maintenance, updates, and enhancements to existing software applications to ensure their continued functionality and relevance.
  • Integrate and maintain databases as needed during the development process, during which the contractor software engineers shall work with Microsoft Server Query Language (MSSQL) and My Structured Query Language (MySQL) databases within the application architecture. The Government estimates there are 50 databases for integration and maintenance.
  • When developing software, follow the "CIA triad" Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability ensuring system security and data integrity.
  • Prepare documentation for software solutions for review and approval by the Government during the development phase.
  • Maintain DoD Information Technology Portfolio Repository - Department of the Navy (DITPR-DON) for AIMTC systems integrated into the production environment upon Government approval. Maintenance shall include updating the DITPR-DON entries for AIMTC based on software and systems changes integrated into the production environment.
  • Evaluate the impact of Government approved change requests on performance, reliability, maintainability, availability, logistics support, safety, and lifecycle cost.
  • Ensure 508 compliances for every project.
  • Submit code using the CI/CD pipeline tools as dictated by AIMTC policy and verify findings meet minimum requirements.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Master's degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science from an accredited university is required.
  • At least seven (7) years ofexperience in computer design, software development or computer networks in the following:
    • Experience developing software with React.
    • Ex[perience using Git and branching strategies.
    • Experience with Agile methodologies.
    • Experience utilizing Containers.
    • Experience developing software in a cloud environment.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
