Job description

Computer Support Specialist
Location: Suitland, MD
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI Required
Leidos is seeking a Computer Support Specialist to join our team in Suitland, MD. In this role, you will support end user hardware, asset and configuration management, and secure communications systems at NMIC (Suitland, MD). You'll play an important role in maintaining reliable IT infrastructure while providing technical support to mission critical operations.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software within desktop computing environments, including thick client workstations, thin clients, VoIP phones, and video teleconferencing systems.
  • Perform network switch patching and configuration.
  • Ensure security patches are current and successfully applied.
  • Develop test specifications and procedures.
  • Assist with the design, engineering, installation, configuration, accreditation, and scheduling of voice and video communication systems.
  • Support asset management activities, including inventory, relocation, repair, removal, and destruction of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while responding to emergent support requirements in an effective and timely manner.
  • Deliver training to rotating military personnel on system configuration, hardware repair, and secure audio and video communications to enhance technical proficiency.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED. An associate degree (or higher) is preferred.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • One of the following certifications:
    • CompTIA A+
    • CompTIA Network+
    • CompTIA Security+
    • BICSI ITS Installer 2 (Fiber Optic) certification within six months of hire
    • CISSP
    • CASP
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Windows, Linux, and Unix based infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience using ServiceNow Action Request System or an equivalent ticketing system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft business tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
