Please note: This role sits five (5) days on site at either our Frisco, TX or La Jolla, CA locations.
Here at Altium, we are creating the future of electronics design and realization. Across our business, we are building a platform for the entire electronics industry, used today by design engineers and procurement professionals around the world.

We are working on transitioning from classic desktop applications to Software As A Service cloud-based software model. We are looking for a talented Cloud Security Engineer to join our rapidly growing Production Engineering team. We want somebody who is passionate about security and is excited about solving challenging problems. As part of the R&D and Production Engineering team, you will need to think of a product's success and contribute your skills and time as an investment to a revolutionary product. We're an international team spanning multiple countries and time zones. As we provide software as a service we must provide reliable and secure service to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Improve and maintain cloud security solutions for monitoring, detection, vulnerability remediation, and incident response for A365
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to provide solutions that drive business goals.
  • Continuously monitor cloud infrastructure and respond to security incidents.
  • Follow DevSecOps methodologies by automating security as much as possible and shifting security left.

  • Hands-on experience with logging and monitoring of cloud infrastructure and identifying security threats
  • Experience responding to security incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
  • IaC, CI/CD, and other DevOps tooling experience.
  • Ability to break down complex problems into manageable and understandable tasks.
  • MUST be a US citizen or Green Card holder.

Certifications (Highly Recommended):

  • Entry/Mid: AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS).
  • Senior/Advanced: Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Experience Requirements:

  • Focus on monitoring, alerting, and basic security configuration, often moving from a security analyst role as well as
  • Independent work, pipeline creation, and implementing security tools.

Key soft skills required in job descriptions for this role include:

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Acting as a liaison between security, developers, and operations teams to embed security into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Effective Communication & Coaching: Communicating complex technical security risks to non-technical stakeholders and coaching developers on secure coding patterns.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving & Analysis: Identifying potential vulnerabilities and designing automated solutions (e.g., policy-as-code) rather than just acting as a "gatekeeper".
  • Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Staying current with rapidly evolving cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and emerging cyber threats.
  • "Security Champion" Mindset: Cultivating a culture of shared responsibility, where security is a "paved road" rather than a roadblock.
