INFORMATION SECURITY ANALYST ASSOCIATE
Advance your career while impacting our national security in cyber as an Information Security Analyst Associate at GDIT. Here, technologists have many paths to grow a meaningful career supporting cyber missions and operations across the federal government.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

  • Performs Computer Security Incident Response activities for a large organization;coordinates with other government agencies to record and report incidents.

  • Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues forremediation.

  • Recognizes potential; successful; and unsuccessful intrusion attempts andcompromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summaryinformation.

  • Evaluate firewall change requests and assess organizational risk.

  • Communicates alerts to agencies regarding intrusions and compromises to theirnetwork infrastructure; applications and operating systems.

  • Assists with implementation of counter-measures or mitigating controls.

  • Ensures the integrity and protection of networks; systems; and applications bytechnical enforcement of organizational security policies; through monitoring ofvulnerability scanning devices.

  • Performs periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments;including user accounts; application access; file system and external Web integrityscans to determine compliance.

  • Prepares incident reports of analysis methodology and results.

  • Participates in network user account creation process and validation of access toshared resources.

  • Participates in the Media control program.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

  • Participates in special projects as required.

  • Reviews Request for Changes.

  • Basic Knowledge of RMF Processes.

  • Assists the Government with various IA, Security, EMSEC and other inspections.

  • Assists with the destruction of classified media.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree

  • Experience: 0+ years of related experience

  • Security clearance level: TS/SCI

  • Minimum DoD 8570.01-Mand 8140 approved and registered IAT Level II baseline certification, with preferred Security+ certificate. The certification shall be current, and verifiable.

The likely salary range for this position is $55,806 - $65,550. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
