The Opportunity

The world of design is changing rapidly, and the Pro Design team is leading that transformation. We are the Adobe organization behind Illustrator, InDesign, and emerging experiences that connect creativity, collaboration, and AI. Our teams are reimagining what professional design looks like for the next decade - building intelligent, connected tools that empower creators and teams to move faster without sacrificing craft.

We are looking for a Staff Data Scientist to be the analytical backbone of our product teams. This is a generalist role for someone with strong statistics foundation who moves fluidly between analysis, experimentation, and modeling, and who is as rigorous about the method as they are clear in the recommendation. Join us and build Adobe's future products!

What you'll Do
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design as an embedded data science lead, translating ambiguous questions into structured analysis and actionable recommendations.

  • Define and steward core product metrics, partnering with our analytics engineering foundation to keep definitions trustworthy and consistent.

  • Develop and run experiments end to end and improve on experimental rigor throughout various products.

  • Build predictive, propensity, or segmentation models, collaborating with applied scientists and ML engineers as those capabilities grow.

  • Build internal data products that leverage AI to scale the team's reach across the organization.

What you need to succeed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or similar) or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in data science, product analytics, or a similar quantitative role.

  • Strong foundation in statistics and experimentation design, and advanced experimentation techniques (CUPED, sequential testing, heterogeneous treatment effects).

  • Proficiency in SQL and Python (or R) for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.

  • Experience building segmentation and predictive models (propensity, churn, LTV) to drive product or marketing actions.

  • Sound product judgment and stakeholder management

  • Fluency with AI-assisted and agentic workflows

Preferred Requirements:

  • MS or Ph.D. in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant technical field, or equivalent experience.

  • Background in consumer product analytics, especially in creative tools, SaaS, or subscription businesses.

  • Deep expertise in both online and offline model evaluation.

  • Familiarity with product analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Amplitude, FullStory) and experimentation platforms.

  • Experience working with modern data stacks (preferably Databricks, Spark).
