Job description

The Academic Resource Center is seeking dependable student workers to fill the Peer Tutor position. Peer Tutors work one-on-one with students, lead study sessions, attend monthly training in-services for tutoring skills development, work on projects and resources to help students, and help with day-to-day operations of the Academic Resource Center. Tutoring experience is not required because we provide a strong orientation and ongoing training.
Must be enrolled as a student at Friends University.
Academically strong in one, preferably several, subject areas such as writing, math, science (chemistry, biology, zoo science, etc.), engineering, accounting, finance, music theory, computer science, religion, and Spanish. Good interpersonal and communication skills. such as explaining complex concepts clearly. Desire to help others grow in understanding of course content and academic skills.
Flexible shifts include Sunday afternoon and evening, Monday through Thursday morning, afternoon, and evening, and Friday morning and afternoon.
