Job Description: 

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Level 4 IT Project Manager to lead our most complex, high-impact, and large-scale technology initiatives. As a Project Manager at HII, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish,working with cross-functional partners across the company, business stakeholders, IT Management, enterprise resources, managed service providers, and vendors. You will act as a strategic orchestrator to deliver measurable business value. You will be responsible for defining project scope, developing detailed plans, managing cross-functional teams, mitigating risks, and communicating progress to all stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with a proven track record of delivering complex IT projects (such as cloud migrations, ERP implementations, or major infrastructure overhauls) on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, has a working knowledge of AI/ML concepts, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams. This role bridges the gap between technical implementation and business impact-ensuring projects are aligned with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities include: Full Lifecycle Management, Complex Problem-Solving, Strategic Planning, Stakeholder & Communication Management, Risk & Issue Management, Budget & Financial Management, Vendor & Contract Management, Quality & Compliance, Methodology & Mentorship.

Basic Qualifications:

9 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field; 7 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree; 4 years of relevant professional experience with a PhD.

Preferred Design Disciplines

Bachelors Degree in computer science, information technology, business administration or a related field, plus a minimum of 5 years of applicable project management experience successfully managing enterprise-level IT projects. Experience in heavily regulated industry such as defense or government contracting. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, ServiceNow PPM Module). Expert level knowledge of multiple project management methodologies.      

Leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

• Technical background with ability to communicate complex information to various audiences

• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills using data and AI insights

• Financial management experience with complex budgets

• Experience managing projects with outsourced partners and service providers

• Shipbuilding or manufacturing industry experience preferred

• AI literacy including understanding of fundamentals, lifecycle management, cloud AI platforms, and application to project management and IT operations

• Experience with DevOps/MLOps frameworks

• Ability to manage multiple initiatives in enterprise environments

• Experience leading cloud migration or digital transformation

• PMP Certification
