Job description

Job Summary
The School of Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering (CSCE) in the College of Arts and Sciences at The University of Southern Mississippi is seeking applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position. The position will be based at the University's main campus in Hattiesburg.  The School of CSCE offers undergraduate programs in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, and Computer Engineering and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in theUnited States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship. TheUniversity will not sponsor applicants for work visas (e.g., H-1B).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teach undergraduate and graduate classes in computer science, supporting program growth in artificial intelligence and intelligent systems.
  2. Develop an externally-funded research program.
  3. Provide service to the School, College, and University.
  4. Provide mentorship to graduate students.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.
