Job Summary:
The University of Mississippi, known as Ole Miss, is a leading public research institution dedicated to fostering an inclusive community. They are seeking a Research Scientist I to develop acoustic signal processing algorithms and software, requiring expertise in mathematical modeling, statistical data analysis, and project leadership.
Responsibilities:
• Demonstrated experience developing mathematical models of systems employing sensors for signal processing or control.
• Demonstrated experience in applying statistical data analysis techniques to multiple-channel data.
• Demonstrated knowledge of applied linear algebra and experience translating mathematical solutions into software.
• Demonstrated project leadership and successful mentoring of students.
• Demonstrated ability to develop research proposals, prepare and deliver technical presentations, and prepare manuscripts for journal publication.
Qualifications:
Required:
• PhD in a relevant field of engineering or science (Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field)
• A minimum of nine (9) years of relevant experience including demonstrated experience developing mathematical models of systems employing sensors for signal processing or control
• Demonstrated experience in applying statistical data analysis techniques to multiple-channel data
• Demonstrated knowledge of applied linear algebra and experience translating mathematical solutions into software
• Demonstrated project leadership and successful mentoring of students
• Demonstrated ability to develop research proposals, prepare and deliver technical presentations, and prepare manuscripts for journal publication
• Must qualify for US Security Clearance
