The Data Operations Specialist advances the Credit Union's data capabilities by strengthening governance, improving team operating processes, and ensuring trusted data is delivered through reliable, well-managed releases. This role partners to uphold data standards, manage intake and prioritization, monitor data quality, and maintain clear visibility into work, capacity, and release readiness. Through disciplined process management and a focus on continuous improvement, this position helps to ensure data assets are accurate, compliant, and ready to support informed decision-making and member value.

You'll be:
Data Governance and Process Operations Support
  • Support the data governance framework to ensure adherence to data standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Complete governance reviews, managed approvals process and perform compliance tracking.
  • Partner with Data Architecture and the Data Governance Program Manager to maintain consistent data definitions, standards, and lineage.

Data Team Process Execution
  • Partner with Data Team leadership to Design, implement, and improve team operating processes.
  • Align team processes with enterprise standards where applicable.
  • Administer and optimize Jira for the Data & Analytics team.
  • Define and enforce standards for tracking work, releases, and incidents.
  • Report on team performance, throughput, and bottlenecks.

Data Quality and Standards Assurance
  • Facilitate quality assurance reviews to confirm production adherence to data standards.
  • Establish and monitor data quality controls and validation practices.
  • Identify, triage, and coordinate resolution of data quality issues.
  • Verify certification and trust requirements before data asset

Intake and Work Management
  • Manage intake for data requests, enhancements, and projects.
  • Triage incoming work to support prioritization and timely action.
  • Maintain visibility into pipelines, priorities, and capacity.

Release Management
  • Manage the release lifecycle for data pipelines, models, and BI assets.
  • Facilities the production readiness validation and sign-off.
  • Ensure versioning, documentation, and rollback procedures are maintained.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in data operations, data management or related field.
  • Proficient writing SQL queries.
  • Experience working with an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tool, strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Snowflake cloud data platform, including performance optimization and security.
  • Experience pulling data from API's, preferred.
  • Ability to work with both structured and semi-structured data.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills.

*This role does not allow for remote work outside of Dubuque, IA and the selected candidate must reside or relocate to this area.
