Exploring Computer Science Instructor Responsibilities
  1. Be at work, self-motivated, and strive for improvement each day.
  2. Be a member of the Career Tech Team.
  3. Follow state curriculum and guidelines.
  4. Prepare and plan for class. Complete lesson plans and send to CTC Director weekly.
  5. Complete and sign off on inventory of assets at least twice a year. Manage assets properly by keeping all equipment in working order.
  6. Utilize available technology and implement Canvas as the instructional tool for Exploring Computer Science.
  7. Plan, organize, and supervise educational field trips for students.
  8. Assist students with their Individual Success Plan (ISP) and finding a job in their Career Pathway.
  9. Recruit business/industry educational partners. Meet advisory committee requirements. Send minutes twice a year to CTC Director.
  10. Attend Open House(s) and meet with students and parents as needed.
  11. Thoroughly complete all paperwork and forms as required by local district and state in a timely manner. For example: field trip requests, purchase orders, activity receipts, deposit slips, teacher absence forms, etc.
  12. Participate in and attend local and state professional development as required by CTC Director.
  13. Help administer MS-CPAS, Performance Based Assessment (PBA), and other state tests.
  14. Be on cafeteria duty, afternoon duty, or other duties as assigned.
  15. Attend MS-ACTE Summer Conference yearly.
  16. Sponsor a course-affiliated student organization. Travel with student competitors to regional, state, and national conferences.
  17. Be ready to assist CTC Director as needed.

Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

Performance of this job will evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy and MDE guidelines.
