Job description

The Cyberinfrastructure Facilitator will serve as a critical bridge between faculty, student researchers, and cyberinfrastructure (CI) resources, supporting the design and implementation of an EduCore framework powered by large language models (LLMs) and advancing next-generation cybersecurity research at SACS Meharry.
The CI Facilitator will assist researchers in accessing and utilizing CI tools and services, organize workshops and bootcamps, deliver hands-on training sessions, and provide ongoing technical guidance. Desired expertise includes programming, software development, machine learning, LLMs, big data analysis, and edge-cloud computing.
Essential Functions (Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities):
  • Lead the design and development of the machine learning and large language models (ML/LLMs)-based EduCore framework and implement cybersecurity strategies in the Edge-Cloud environment, including system validation
  • Develop applications, testbeds, and related software tools to support research objectives
  • Participate in collaborative research activities and contribute to the preparation of grant proposals
  • Assist the PI in organizing workshops, bootcamps, and student training sessions
  • Perform data analysis and interpretation of results generated from research projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Strong computing background in Cybersecurity, Cyberinfrastructure, and Machine Learning
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R, Java, or C/C++)
  • Ability to design, develop, and validate ML/LLM-based frameworks and research software
  • Strong analytical skills for data analysis and interpretation of research outputs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for workshops, training, and collaborative research
  • Classroom teaching experience is a plus but not required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Preferred:
  • Demonstrated experience with ML/LLM-based frameworks for research or application development

Education and Experience Required:
  • The qualified candidate should hold a Master/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field.
